FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

I have a lot of glass I'd like to get rid of, should I bring it to Northwest Recycle?

No. Your local garbage company handles the pick-up of residential glass, as well as other household recyclables. If you miss your recycling pick up you can take your bin to SSC on Roder Ave. We do not accept mixed cans and bottles from the public.

Do you take garbage?

No, we are a recycling processor and only handle items that can be recycled. Items must be brought in sorted or they can not be dumped.

What are your hours?

C St. Location: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM; Saturday 8:00AM - 1:00PM
Kentucky St. Location: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM

We have 24 hour paper and aluminum can drop bins behind 1515 Kentucky and on Astor St. between D and E Street.

What do you accept?

At our Kentucky Street site, we accept: aluminum cans, cardboard, newspaper, mixed paper, magazines, and clean notebooks. Bins are available behind the warehouse. Please bring these items to this warehouse during the week as the downtown location is extremely busy with commercial recycling.

At the C Street site, we accept: all grades of paper and cardboard, aluminum cans, scrap metals, and appliances.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT GARBAGE, MIXED GLASS FROM THE PUBLIC, YARD WASTE, CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS, TELEVISION OR COMPUTER MONITORS, TELEPHONES, OR WINDOW PANES. Call the recycling hotline at 676-5723 for disposal information on these items.

Can I get money for my recycling?

Yes, we pay for aluminum cans, aluminum scrap, brass, copper, insulated wire, stainless steel, lead, and nickel. We pay for only large volumes of paper and cardboard (500 or more pounds per load).

Do you charge me to recycle?

The only fee we charge is $30 for refrigerators and freezers.

Can I drop items off after you are closed?

Yes, we have 24 hour paper and aluminum can drop bins behind 1515 Kentucky and on Astor St. behind D and E Street. This is for paper and cardboard only. DO NOT LEAVE GARBAGE.

I have a boiler to remove in my basement. Can I bring it to Northwest Recycling?

Yes. We can dismantle and remove it for you. Please call for a quote.
